Blurb to be revised. At heart, this is a story about "an absolutely rotten bastard who falls in love one day and gets what he deserves from then on."
The gong is Xie Xian, and the shou is Si Qiuyan.
Xie Xian accidentally learns that he is the villain in a book and that, ten years from now, the protagonist will slay him with a sword.
He finds this so-called protagonist, who is still just a little kid.
Underling: "Should we kill him or lock him up? Just say the word!"
Xie Xian: "Take him in as my disciple."
Underling: "...What?"
Killing him so easily would be boring.
He'll raise the kid, make him trust and admire him, then, when the kid eventually tries to kill him in the name of justice, he can enjoy watching
The confusion and struggle in the kid's eyes.
Did he raise him? Yes. Was he killed? Yes.
A sword pierced his heart.
The kid was decisive when he killed him, and even more efficient when he buried him. Not a hint of hesitation.
Xie Xian watched the whole thing, laughing as he scolded, "You ungrateful brat."
A year later.
"Have you heard? Si Qiuyan has taken another master."
"Anyone still willing to take him? He's the one who murders his masters."
"Come on. If you haven't done anything wrong, you don't have to fear ghosts knocking at your door. You think everyone is like that Xie Xian?"
Xie Xian listened nearby and nodded in agreement.
Then he saw Si Qiuyan's new master: a man of extraordinary bearing, quiet and reserved, who always wore a mask.
When they were alone, Si Qiuyan held his master's hand.
Later, Si Qiuyan ran his hands over his master's legs.
As things got more intense, Si Qiuyan even tried to kiss his master's lips. His hand was already on the mask, and the man showed no sign of refusing.
Watching from afar, Xie Xian couldn't help laughing. "That ungrateful brat really hasn't changed his taste for sleeping with his masters."
The mask came off, revealing a pair of vacant eyes. This so-called master was actually a puppet.
Xie Xian watched with delight. "He's really getting adventurous."
Then he realized that the puppet looked exactly like him, Xie Xian.
Xie Xian: ...
*
Later, Xie Xian possessed the puppet. Maybe it was just for the fun of it, or maybe he had some ulterior motive. Who knows?
But there was always going to come a day when he was found out. The moment something seemed amiss, Si Qiuyan's sword was at his heart.
"Who are you?"
"Who else? Xie Xian."
"Impossible," Si Qiuyan gritted out. "He's dead. I... killed him with my own hands."
"That's right," Xie Xian nodded. "I was dead, and my soul was nearly scattered."
"Before it scattered, I heard you were going to sleep with another master, and I was so mad that..."
Xie Xian smiled. "I killed my way back from the grave."
Tips: 1. There is a reasonable explanation for why the shou is cruel at first.
2. The gong suffers lasting aftereffects after being pierced through the heart by an arrow. He's strong, but sickly.
