I Took the Initiative to Date the Brooding Male Lead

Yang Mu transmigrated into a book.

He became neighbors with Jiang Xingzhou, the male lead of a web novel.

Jiang Xingzhou was withdrawn and loved collecting specimens. He was extremely handy. Cold-blooded and ruthless, he had driven the other families into a panic. Now that he had just secured his footing, he hadn't yet made a move against the Yang family.

As a member of the Yang family, Yang Mu decided to win him over with love. He knocked on the male lead's ominous-looking door.

The owner wasn't home. Yang Mu found the key under the carpet and opened the door, only to be startled by what he saw inside.

There were insect specimens everywhere, as well as a snake.

"Who are you?"

A cold voice came from behind Yang Mu.

Bang. The door shut.

Yang Mu was instantly covered in goosebumps. He turned around and saw a pale young man with black hair, sharply angled brows, bright eyes, and an icy gaze.

Keeping calm, Yang Mu smiled. "I came to say hello to my new neighbor."

"Is that so?" Jiang Xingzhou's attitude was hard to read.

The atmosphere grew more and more dangerous, especially with the gleaming dissection knife in Jiang Xingzhou's hand. Yang Mu, now thoroughly cowed, said, "I made chicken soup at home. Would you like some?"

Jiang Xingzhou: "Sure."

Yang Mu: "???"

Somehow, Yang Mu traded chicken soup for Jiang Xingzhou's specimens, and after a few such exchanges, the two became close.

Things went smoothly, and Yang Mu confessed his feelings. Jiang Xingzhou even cried that day.

Their life together was fairly normal, but Yang Mu started to wonder if he'd confessed to the wrong person. What if the person he confessed to just happened to share the same name as the male lead?

So Yang Mu went to a banquet to look for clues about the male lead.

At the banquet, one of the families made some rude remarks.

Then the decisive, ruthless man appeared, and the whole room fell silent. There was no mystery to it: Jiang Xingzhou was a ruthless man who had uprooted the deeply entrenched Gu family in just one month. Rumor had it he also had a little-known hobby.

Yang Mu, watching it all from a corner, was dumbfounded.

Was this really the same guy who'd cried?

Bonus Scene:

At night, Yang Mu was pinned down, both hands held above his head by Jiang Xingzhou's one hand. Jiang Xingzhou smiled dangerously. "Avoiding me?"

He kissed the corner of Yang Mu's lips. With chilling, all-consuming possessiveness, Jiang Xingzhou said, "You're not allowed to."

Reader's Guide: One-on-one, both devoted to each other, no cheating.

A seemingly normal but inwardly possessive top x a gentle, older, timid-hearted bottom

1. I made this dumpling just so the top could cry.

2. It's a romance, and both of them are proactive.

3. The bonus story has nothing to do with the main story. It's my first version, which I wrote earlier. I polished and revised it and put it up for everyone to read. Mwah~

Theme: Hope is everywhere in life, so we must keep striving.
