I Have a Guanyin Eye [Chinese-Style Horror]

The Chinese horror game "Guanyin's Eye" is hailed as the pinnacle of the genre. As soon as its beta access was announced, netizens rushed to sign up.

Yu Ran entered the game to accompany her best friend, but was pulled into an infinite-flow world as soon as she logged in.

When she opened her eyes, ancestral tablets crowded the shrine hall, surrounded by countless fireflies. A bride in a red veil sat upright in the doorway, paper figures greeted her with grins, ancient Buddhist chants echoed, and a hanged girl knocked at the door.

Chinese horror meant twice the psychological attacks. Yu Ran gripped her lousy beginner's gift pack and fought her way through the terrifying scenarios.

Soon, she discovered that all things in the world followed the cycle of cause and effect, and that the five-element scenarios countered and nourished one another.

Fire: The Gate of Joy and Sorrow: If you see my daughter, please tell her I'm waiting for her.

Water: The Hundred Pools: Please bless my little sister with a long life and a life of peace.

Earth: Phoenix City: We, the ants blessed by Heaven, have reached the time to give our lives for you.

Metal: Clear Water Town: Welcome to the Peach Blossom Spring. Fairness and justice will be with you.

Wood...

Yu Ran survived one round after another, until the final boss scenario.

Die together, or live alone?

Pray to the gods. A kindhearted deity might help you.

No one can control my fate. I want us all to live!

[Legend has it that Guanyin sends one of her eyes to watch over the mortal world and fulfill the obsessions of all living beings.]

Sister, you have a Guanyin eye.
