That Idol Is So Interesting [Showbiz]

[The bonus chapters are in progress! I've hit a block, sob. I'll get them to you as soon as I can, my dears!!] A silly, fun story. Here's the blurb: You Man transmigrates into the body of You Man, a female solo artist in the Korean entertainment industry. The original You Man had relationships with countless men, saying whatever suited whoever she was talking to and putting on one face in public and another in private. She relied on her ex-boyfriends to release songs and act, badmouthed their bandmates, rode on their fame, and latched onto them to cash in. Once she was found out, she immediately deleted all their contact information and flew abroad for a carefree vacation. Who knew she'd get into a car accident on the way home from the airport? When she wakes up, it's 2023. You Man is told that she's about to join a dating show for people who've never been in a relationship, titled *The First Heart-Pounding Moment*. Four of the five male contestants were once stepping stones she'd dumped. You Man: ??? How did the original You Man dare to sign up for this show? On Jeju Island, the male and female contestants meet for the first time. Ex-boyfriend number one smiles brightly and greets her warmly: “So you've never been in a relationship, Youyou? I never would have guessed.” You Man trembles. She feels like she'll be thrown into the sea to feed the fish any second. Ex-boyfriend number two hands her a glass of water: “Why are you sweating, sis? Have some water.” You Man trembles as she takes it. The ninety-nine-degree water scalds her hand numb. Ex-boyfriend number three is a gentleman, kind and considerate. He leads her out of the kitchen: “How can we make a lady cook? What would you like to eat?” You Man is close to tears. She wants a regret-erasing pill. Please, just give her one. Ex-boyfriend number four thoughtfully drapes a jacket over her shoulders at night. In a camera blind spot, he unplugs her microphone and speaks evenly: “Wear more. Don't freeze to death. It wouldn't be any fun if you did.” You Man howls at the sky. What did she do to deserve this? To avoid her four ex-boyfriends, You Man decisively sticks close to contestant number five, who is taking it easy with the production crew. On the show, she's the production team's workhorse, ready to go wherever she's needed, trying hard to soothe her ex-boyfriends until they're all as calm as can be. Viewers: Yikes, she's so weird. Let's keep watching. Onstage, she's an unkillable roach, taking charge of lyrics, composition, and concepts. At last, she rescues her dying career and turns it into a roaring success. Viewers: Wow, she's amazing! I'm a fan! With everything finally settled, she can relax and enjoy her time on the show. But one day, number five looks at her intently and says: “I remember you once said you liked me. Do you still mean it?” You Man narrows her eyes and digs the bold declaration she made while drunk out of her chaotic memories. “I like you, so don't you dare turn me down! Got it?” After a long hesitation, You Man says seriously: “Give me two days. I'll think it over properly.” Number five agrees without hesitation. A day later, You Man suddenly gets out of the car and announces that she's withdrawing from the dating show's filming due to work commitments. Number five, still waiting for an answer: ??? On the third day after leaving the show, she appears on *I Live Alone*. Viewers: Wow! She's so entertaining! She's a walking source of joy! Cover art by Bishui Gugu. Thank you!!
