[Cool, Reserved Calligrapher Bottom and Devoted-to-His-Wife Movie Star Top]
Ever since Pei Shu transferred to No. 7 Primary School, he and Chu Xiaoxiao have been at odds.
Neither boy was easy to handle. They spent all day forming cliques, causing trouble, and getting into mischief, and each had powerful people backing him.
Chu Xiaoxiao's father was the celebrated movie star Chu Lin.
Pei Shu's father was the eldest legitimate grandson of a family renowned for calligraphy.
No matter how much trouble the two boys caused, their fathers could always sort it out in a second. At that age, boys refused to yield to anyone. They were determined to find out who was better, and whose dad was more impressive. The school disciplinary office was in chaos every day, and the staff were under immense pressure.
At the graduation ceremony, Pei Shu's father showed up, but Chu Xiaoxiao's father didn't.
Pei Shu was finally thrilled. He dragged his father, Pei Yan, over to Chu Xiaoxiao to gloat, then asked why his dad hadn't dared to come.
Chu Xiaoxiao was so angry he bared his teeth and claws, but couldn't get a word out.
Instead, Pei Yan lowered his cool, composed gaze to the child before him and said lightly,
"His dad is my ex-husband. Maybe he's trying to avoid any awkwardness."
Pei Shu: "!!!"
Chu Xiaoxiao: "???"

On the day they divorced, Chu Lin asked Pei Yan, "Do you really not love me anymore?"
Pei Yan didn't answer. He slapped the black-and-white divorce agreement down on the table. Chu Lin stayed silent for a long time, then signed it, just as he'd promised years ago, and handed over all his assets before leaving with nothing.
