Novel Blurb:
"Ah! Why don't I have a partner?!"
"I've got an opportunity for you. All you have to do is transmigrate into a book. There'll be ethereal beauties, alluring beauties, charming and innocent beauties, dignified beauties, and all kinds of gorgeous men and women. You can find whoever you want to date."
"I can date anyone I want?"
"If you want them, no one can stop you!"
"Does that mean I'll transmigrate and become an emperor?"
"Absolutely not an emperor!"
"Then what happens if I die over there?"
"If you die, you'll return to the present."
"Will I transmigrate in my own body?"
"No, your soul will enter someone else's body."
"Is the person I'm transmigrating into still alive?"
"Yes, but he thought that having only twenty-eight years left to live was too short, so he ran off early. That's why we've come to ask you to fill in for him."
"Why choose me?"
"Your names are similar, and your birth charts match."
"What if you're lying to me?"
"We can make an oath to Heaven. If I deceive you, I'll be your slave for all eternity!"
"No! If we're making an oath, then make an oath to the Great Dao. If you deceive me, you'll be my slave forever!"
"Agreed!"
And so, with the deal sealed, Wang Zhou transmigrated into King Zhou of Shang in Investiture of the Gods.
The first thing he did after opening his eyes was go to Nuwa Palace to offer incense.
Content warning: The obscene poem King Zhou wrote while offering incense is based on a view I saw on Baidu: "If King Zhou's poem was addressed to Empress Nuwa herself, then without a doubt it was obscene. But if he was praising the statue, and using his praise of the statue to praise Empress Nuwa, then it was a clever hymn of praise." The protagonist of this novel agrees that it was a hymn of praise.
Jia Lian, the Chuunibyou Version, in Dream of the Red Chamber
Jia Li'an, a struggling student in his second year of middle school, transmigrates.
He becomes Jia Lian from Dream of the Red Chamber.
But he transmigrates a little too early. He hasn't even been born yet.
From inside the womb, he listens to the Si Tu family's struggle for the throne among the Nine Princes of the Great Jing Dynasty.
Jia Lian's chuunibyou spirit blazes to life.
This must be a parallel world of the Great Qing Dynasty.
Why are all these princes fighting over the throne?
The world is so big. Wouldn't it be better if each of them seized a piece of it, declared themselves king, and ruled their own domain?!
Jia She, a follower of the Crown Prince, receives a reward from him.
He's about to share the news with his pregnant wife when he hears a child's voice coming from her belly.
After repeatedly failing to get rid of the "monster," Jia She gradually learns where his son came from.
With his son's foreknowledge, Jia She leads the Crown Prince astray,
yet helps him secure his position and bring peace to the realm.
