My Benefactor With Severed Limbs Keeps Rejecting Me

Naive, loyal-dog seme × prickly, disabled uke

Seven-year age gap / younger seme / healing / lighthearted / happy ending

One-sentence (not exactly literary) summary:

A puppy perks up his ears and wags his tail. He wants him, and he wants to live on his island.

Short blurb:

When Lin Chuqiu was twenty, he lost a leg saving someone's life.

Seven years later, the kid he'd saved came back, insisting on repaying the favor.

Blurb I spent three days and three nights thinking up:

After a car accident, Lin Chuqiu opened a general store on Xixian Island, his hometown. Life on the island was peaceful, and he was content with his quiet, comfortable life.

Then one day, a tall young man showed up at his store. Handsome and sunny, with a youthful air still about him, he stood in the doorway and said he was looking for someone.

That someone was Lin Chuqiu himself.

The repayment had come late, but Lin Chuqiu didn't need it.

He tried to send the guy away, but Zhong Yan was like a clingy puppy, acting cute, begging, and rolling around.

Lin Chuqiu couldn't get through to him, so he had no choice but to let him stay. He never expected that one day the puppy would confess his feelings.

"We can't be together."

Lin Chuqiu rejected him firmly and pushed him away again and again, only to end up eating his words.

At first:

Zhong Yan:

"I'll help you move the goods."

"Leave it alone. I'll do it!"

"I can do anything. Let me stay."

"I'll be back soon."

"Qiu-ge, I like you."

Lin Chuqiu couldn't do anything with Zhong Yan. The guy wouldn't listen when scolded and wouldn't leave when asked, but Lin Chuqiu didn't want him to repay him!

"I'm not hiring part-time help."

"I'll send you away tomorrow."

"Don't come back."

"We can't be together."

Later:

Zhong Yan: "I'm running after you, while time is teaching me what love and perseverance mean."

"Qiu-ge, will you go out with me?"

"Happy thirtieth birthday, big brother."

Lin Chuqiu: "You can kiss me now."

"A-Yan, sometimes I think about how short life really is. The odds of spending the rest of it with someone who understands your heart are so small. And somehow, I happened to be one of the lucky ones. I'm so happy. It almost doesn't feel real, but I'm secretly thrilled, too."

"We've been together for over three years. It's about time we got married."

PS:

Since you're here, why not add it to your favorites and give it a look?~ (tugging at your sleeve, starry-eyed, throwing a tantrum, rolling on the floor, wiping away tears ~)

Theme: Love is freedom, and it's an island.
