The Patriarch of the Mystic Sect Makes a Comeback in the Modern Era and Becomes a Sensation

Ye Jue, an old master of the mystic arts, thought he would ascend to immortality after dying. He had no idea where things had gone wrong. When he opened his eyes, he found that he had become a low-talent outer disciple in the modern mystic arts world.

He'd even just been expelled from the Celestial Master Academy for failing to complete his studies.

Penniless and truly pitiful.

Ye Jue: ...

To survive, Ye Jue had no choice but to return to his old line of work.

Fortune-telling and drawing talismans were a piece of cake.

Exorcising ghosts and telling fortunes came naturally.

Before long, Ye Jue had become a new powerhouse in the world of the mystic arts.

As his fame spread, the various mystic arts families all sensed something was wrong. Why was Ye Jue so good at using their families' secret, one-of-a-kind skills?!

Before long, heirs from all the major families came to challenge him.

Then the patriarch of the Talisman Family watched Ye Jue draw their top-secret, S-rank talisman with his bare hands, right in front of him.

Patriarch of the Talisman Family: Just say the word, and I'll step down and hand you my position!

The Daoist Medicine School challenged Ye Jue to a contest. Ye Jue motioned for them to step back, then snatched a soul straight from the hands of Black and White Impermanence.

The current first-ranked heir of the Daoist Medicine School: ...Wait, you can just grab it from them?

Ye Jue politely said, “As long as you can win.”

The first-ranked Daoist: ...I shouldn't have asked.

A master of divination and deduction went straight to Ye Jue's door. “Mr. Ye, about that talisman question I asked you last time...”

He glanced to the side and saw the Spirit Speaker, the mystic arts world's most formidable practitioner, kneeling before Ye Jue ahead of him. “Master! Please take me as your disciple!”

The divination master: “? Wait, since when could Spirit Speakers talk?”

Ye Jue looked up in confusion. “Can't Spirit Speakers talk?”

The divination master: “?”

Ye Jue: “Oh, I'm a Spirit Speaker too.”

Everyone: !!!

What else could you possibly be that we don't know about?

Ye Jue smiled. In his heart, he thought: I'm also your founding patriarch.
