Report! The God Made His Pretend Romance Real

A little mountain god, hidden away for over a hundred years, was woken by sobbing.

A young woman named Shi Fei barged into the mountain god's temple. Her big brother was getting married, and his bride was a fox spirit who had been at odds with Shi Fei for over a decade, her mortal enemy. Tipsy and heartbroken, Shi Fei wept and prayed for three hours, begging the gods to help her.

The little mountain god had no interest in mortal romance, but this was the only prayer they had received in over a hundred years.

So the little mountain god followed Shi Fei home.

There was just one problem: after years without offerings, the little mountain god had almost no magic left.

Shi Fei came up with all sorts of ways to break the couple up. For example:

"Make the fox spirit ugly?"

The little mountain god: I can't.

"Make the fox spirit have an accident and lose an arm or a leg?"

The little mountain god: I don't dare.

"Cast an illusion so the man looks impossible to bear to the fox spirit!"

The little mountain god: I can do that! I'll try it now... Will five seconds be enough?

Shi Fei: ...

In desperation, she glanced at the little mountain god's peerless, otherworldly beauty and said offhandedly, "Why don't you seduce my brother instead?"

The little mountain god: ...

It's a tough ask, but for the sake of incense offerings, I can give it a try.

In the end, the little mountain god came through. The wedding between Shi Fei's brother and the fox spirit fell through. But one day, Shi Fei overheard her brother asking an expert for advice on the proper way to propose to a mountain god.

Shi Fei: ...

Big Brother, you could've just said you liked men!!!

[Big Brother: A generous reward for whoever finds out who started the rumor that I was getting married. I want to thank them in person.]
