[Excerpt]

"What? You really hadn't noticed?" He widened his eyes as if a child had spotted something new, and a brilliant, enormous grin suddenly split his innocent face. He looked the other over with keen interest, from head to toe, his words carrying a hidden meaning. "You're much more oblivious than I imagined."

"..."

"The strangest person here is obviously you, isn't it?"

"..."

"You've been acting like you've known Beethoven and me for ages, joining in our conversations ever since we met."

"But there's something I've always, always wanted to ask you."

"Who are you?"

Sunlight streamed through the curtains that hadn't been drawn shut, falling on that pink hair. He smiled with a child's innocent sweetness, his head tilted slightly to one side, waiting for the answer like a child waiting to unwrap a piece of candy. But all around him there was only emptiness and silence, as if everything had been swallowed up. He leaned forward again, his chains rattling softly, the same smile as if stamped from a mold still on his face. He lowered his voice to a whisper, speaking so gently it was as if he might frighten a timid kitten.

"So, tell me, who are you?"

Premise: Even after losing all his memories, he still moves forward without hesitation
