The Eastern Depot Intern's Handbook

Huan Yu became an apprentice eunuch after ending up under the worst chief eunuch in the Eastern Depot.

Do this job well and you get promoted and earn more. Do it badly and you lose your head.

To stay alive, Huan Yu was determined to cling to his immediate superior, Pei Siyu, and charge ahead, striving to become the Eastern Depot's second-most powerful eunuch!

On his first day as an apprentice, he went to report to the Eastern Depot and discovered that the depot commander was incredibly handsome. Huan Yu sneaked several glances at him and was punished by the commander with toilet-cleaning duty.

On his second day, Huan Yu wanted to stay at the Eastern Depot, but was assigned to the Noble Consort's chambers instead. When he heard her badmouthing the commander, he reported it to him, earning only a disdainful look.

After a month of apprenticeship, Huan Yu figured he'd buttered up his superior enough and could finally get involved in the Eastern Depot's core business, like killing someone or setting something on fire for the emperor. He asked the commander, who told him to warm his bed.

On the nth day of his apprenticeship, after some time spent getting to know each other in bed, Huan Yu felt that the commander seemed rather fond of his little apprentice. So he decided to perform the Eastern Depot's highest ceremony: ask the commander to become his adoptive father, then take over the Eastern Depot after his hundredth year and make it bigger and stronger.

Having decided to ask him to become his adoptive father, Huan Yu looked at the little eunuchs scrambling to curry favor with the commander. That very night, he eagerly began whispering in the commander's ear from their pillow.

Huan Yu snuggled into Pei Siyu's arms and said softly, "When I was little, my father used to hold me like this while I slept. No wonder the commander feels so familiar."

Pei Siyu pinched Huan Yu's cheek with a humorless smile. "Speak. Plainly."

Huan Yu blinked his big eyes and smiled slyly. "I mean... are you looking for a son?"

Hey, are you there? Want to date? The kind where I take care of you in old age and arrange your funeral, a complete package.
