After I Dumped the Madman, I Faked My Death

The year Luo Sheng was sent to the desert as a hostage, she was still a little girl.

The lonely girl met a little beggar scavenging for food in a rubbish heap.

His eyes were pitch-black, and he bared his teeth like a wolf cub from the desert.

Feeling sorry for him, Luo Sheng shared half her food with him.

She taught him to read and write, taught him all sorts of things, and told him about the vast world beyond the desert.

Later, he grew into the king of the Xiongnu, and the dynasty and the Xiongnu made peace again.

Having completed her mission, Luo Sheng was satisfied and faked her death to return to the Bianjing she had longed for.

But the good times did not last. She heard that the new Xiongnu king was cruel and corrupt, helping the wicked and leading two thousand cavalrymen to slaughter the dynasty's military camp.

Beneath the city gates, the north wind howled. The man's eyes were bloodshot as he looked at Luo Sheng and begged her through tears,

"Come down. I only want to take you home."
