Higekiri, a treasured sword of the Genji, has a younger brother named Hizamaru.
In the eyes of the public, Higekiri is an old man on a par with Mikazuki Munechika, though unlike Mikazuki, he doesn't get lost or need help with daily life.
Mikazuki: Hahahaha! Consider yourself warned!
He's also not like that other green bird tea enthusiast whose name sounds like tea and Okanehira. He doesn't write observation journals, nor does he gaze at his descendants with the loving eyes of Kogarasumaru, or pull the unpredictable, mysterious pranks of Tsurumaru Kuninaga. He's much better behaved than all of them.
He even has a younger brother, but the problem is... he can't remember his name.
It's like the wakizashi twins of the Awataguchi family. They were burned and lost their memories, but his case is simply that there are too many stories and too many names, and he can't keep them straight.
Higekiri: "Oh, my little brother? Isn't he called Little Brother Maru? No? Um, then was it Elbow Maru? Kneecap Maru? Well! He's my little brother, so that's good enough... What, are you talking about Crow Maru? Oh, no?"
That's how it is. He may not get lost like Mikazuki, but he can't remember names! Sometimes you really have to wonder about his memory.
But Higekiri is a little different. Not only can he not remember names, he's also face-blind. And not only is he face-blind, but ever since his little brother arrived, he can't even take care of himself!
He seemed pretty normal before he met his little brother.
Tsurumaru Kuninaga: "So that's why you didn't recognize me? You can tell your own little brother from Uguisumaru just fine, so how come you can't remember someone with such obviously different colors as me?"
Higekiri: "White Maru?"
Tsurumaru Kuninaga: "I'm Black Crane!"
Higekiri: "Oh, White Maru. What do you need?"
Tsurumaru Kuninaga: "..."
Mikazuki Munechika: "Hahahaha! White Maru? That's a very fitting name for a crane."
Tsurumaru Kuninaga: "I'm Black Crane! White Crane hasn't even come back yet!"
Ichigo Hitofuri, passing by: "So, Black Crane, you made my little brother fall into a pit. Come fight me."
Tsurumaru Kuninaga: "!!!"
Kogarasumaru quietly sips his tea: "Such a peaceful life."
Mikazuki Munechika: "Indeed, indeed."
Higekiri: "What are you thinking about, little bird?"
Kogarasumaru quietly turns away: When is Hizamaru coming back?!
The more serious blurb:
The moment he opened his eyes, Higekiri found himself on a battlefield. With his head empty and no memories at all, he wandered around until he came across a familiar-looking white crane ball.
Faced with someone who seemed familiar but whom he couldn't remember at all, Higekiri felt a strange affection for him and took him home.
Higekiri: Everyone, I picked someone up, and he wants to come home with me!
What awaits Higekiri next:
Someone else's home, an unfamiliar younger brother, colleagues he barely knows, missing friends, and his own memory loss.
Higekiri: Um, memory loss? I only have amnesia, you know.
He has picked up a deadweight and is doing his best to survive.

P.S. OOC warning. Some of the swords are from next door. Since they share a world, this is a crossover!
