Old Stories of Harbor City [The 1980s]

Fang Zhiyao, who lives in a small fishing village, loves to sit on the pier at sunset and gaze across the river at the opposite bank.

There, skyscrapers stand in rows and neon lights fill the streets.

It's a prosperous paradise that countless people nearby risk their lives trying to reach by sneaking across the border.

Fang Zhiyao doesn't have the nerve. She cherishes her life.

A glimpse of the bright lights and bustle across the river is enough for her. She doesn't dare dream of more.

Until one day, she receives a letter from the other side.

It tells her to go to Hong Kong City and find a man named Xi Sheng.

Her distant aunt has arranged a marriage between them.

Fang Zhiyao completes the complicated paperwork and sets off for Hong Kong with her aunt.

At the time, she is amazed by Hong Kong City's novelty and prosperity. She has no idea her gambling-addicted aunt has already sold her to someone else.

In a top-tier mansion in Repulse Bay, Xi Sheng sips coffee and flips through the newspaper.

Suddenly, his domestic helper tells him, "Sir, a woman claiming to be your wife came looking for you the other day."

Xi Sheng: ?

#I've been single for over twenty years. Where did this wife come from?!#

#I want to see who's got the nerve to pull this!#
