I Dumped Him 99 Times

"Ding! Welcome to the Heart-Pounding Romance System."

Suzuki Keiko: ?

"Beginner's mission: Find the student council president within five minutes and confess your feelings to him."

The student council president? Atobe?

Compared to the utterly ordinary-looking Suzuki Keiko, he was the Ice Emperor, the center of attention at Hyotei.

Although they were both in Class 3-A, they had never crossed paths.

Suzuki Keiko: Confessing to a classmate I barely know would be so rude, and besides, I don't have any special feelings for Atobe.

She decided to refuse the mission and stay away from the strange System.

System: Warning! Preparing electric shock...

A jolt of electricity passed through Suzuki Keiko's body, making her go limp.

System: Three minutes remaining. If the mission fails, all traces of the Host in this world will be erased.

Suzuki Keiko had no choice but to run off and find him. Fortunately, she came across her target at the next turn, along with the tennis club members and other Hyotei students.

System: One minute remaining.

Under the pressure, Suzuki Keiko could only throw caution to the wind and confess to him.

"Atobe, I like you."

System: Beginner's mission complete.

Seeing the crisis was over, Suzuki Keiko breathed a sigh of relief. She was about to explain that it had all been a misunderstanding when she heard him speak.

"Suzuki, be my girlfriend."

Suzuki Keiko: ?

System: Congratulations, Host, on triggering a special main quest: become this target's girlfriend, then break up with him 99 times.

So she had to dump Atobe 99 times?!

Suzuki Keiko: (gritting her teeth) What a heart-pounding romance game.

Reader's note:

1. Lots and lots of creative liberties, all in service of the plot.

2. I probably won't actually write all 99 times (awkward laugh).

Theme: Love takes perseverance
