[Let the love triangle get even messier!!!
The groveling arc: No, let me go first.]
Wen Jing (the bottom), who was raised from childhood to be a guide, is suddenly told during the entrance exam that he's a sentinel. Forced to muddle through the test, he unsurprisingly comes in last and earns the mocking nickname "Pretty Boy."
After redoubling his efforts, he finally rises to the top of the sentinel rankings, further provoking the displeasure of the former top student, Wen Mangran (the top). The "Illiterate" and "Pretty Boy" begin a long period of finding fault with each other, bickering every three days and having a major blowup every five.
The two excellent students are selected to fight in an interstellar war. As they fight side by side in the vastness of space, they come to appreciate each other. During the final battle, Wen Jing takes a bullet for Wen Mangran, then is captured and subjected to human experimentation.
Wen Jing makes a difficult escape and returns. Wen Mangran looks after his savior, but still can't let go of the white moonlight in his heart. On the day he plans to confess, he receives an invitation to Wen Mangran's wedding with his white moonlight. The wedding descends into chaos and never takes place, and they return to school.
Next come the scandalous "intimate photos" circulating around school, a rut triggered by malicious interference during a sparring match, and Wen Jing finding the criminal behind the human experiments and demanding his help, only to escape in the end because of the top's white moonlight... (The familiar groveling arc is just getting started.)
After the physical alterations, Wen Jing, now half-sentinel and half-guide, loses heart. He trades the honors he earned for a chance to transfer schools, then uses his powerful mental control to become a renowned general.
They fight side by side again when Wen Mangran goes to great lengths to join Wen Jing's unit, hoping to win the beauty's heart, only to find him surrounded by people: a prince who appeared out of nowhere, a junior from his old school who adores him, and comrades from the unit who have also fought alongside him...
Wen Mangran: A bellyful of jealousy, sour feelings every moment, and a heart full of regret...
Wen Jing: Half a lifetime has passed, and Wen Mangran is still illiterate.
Theme: A blessing in disguise may be a blessing indeed.
