Mediumship [Chinese-Style Horror]

Song Ran had been able to communicate with spirits since childhood, but the ability had nearly disappeared as she grew up, until she brought home a bronze mirror she found in an abandoned village.

That very night, she began having all kinds of nightmares.

She could see a white silk noose hanging from a beam, hear cries for help from a well, smell blood in a courtyard, and...

But she couldn't see the faces of the people in her dreams or make out exactly what had happened.

She could only sense that every place appearing in her dreams hid a past unknown to others, along with a resentful spirit lurking somewhere, waiting for the truth and desperate to be freed.

She wanted to escape the dreams, but the bronze mirror pulled her into the settings themselves, or rather, into small worlds in another space-time. The only one who could stand by her side was the person who had come with the mirror, a "noble ghost" whose manner was refined and whose bearing was extraordinary, as if he came from ancient times.

Xiao Yi didn't know how long he'd been wandering among the living. There was no reincarnation, and no one could communicate with him. As time passed, even his memories began to blur, until a young woman took away the bronze mirror he had been living in.

He was forced to move into her home.

He thought he would simply have to keep wandering somewhere else, but this girl could see him.

She looked a little surprised, but not afraid. She even tried to reason with him, the "uninvited ghost."

She was noisy, but also... kind of lively.

As the resentful spirits in the bronze mirror were freed one by one and entered reincarnation, Xiao Yi's memories grew clearer and clearer.

But as the last resentful spirit who still needed to be freed, sooner or later he would also...

"If I disappear, you have to remember me." Xiao Yi held Song Ran by the shoulders and looked at her. Then he suddenly forced a smile and added, "If remembering me hurts too much, then... you can forget me, too."

Song Ran replied, "I don't want to remember you, and I don't want to forget you. I want you to stay."
