This Isn't the Father-Son Bond I Imagined

Wen Chiri transmigrated into the apocalypse and returned to the body of his nine-year-old self.

Being trapped in a child's body made surviving the apocalypse extremely difficult.

In the midst of all those hardships, while searching for supplies, he came across a four-year-old child.

The child was skin and bones, his thin arms tightly clutching a piece of moldy bread. Hiding in a freezer, he watched Wen Chiri as ferociously as a wolf cub.

Wen Chiri fell silent, then closed the freezer door and prepared to leave.

But the child suddenly grabbed the door from inside and shakily held out half of the moldy bread with his other hand. "Here."

Wen Chiri fell silent again.

One day, later on.

Little Xie Chunfeng hid nearby, waiting for Wen Chiri to return from searching for supplies. A friend passing by spotted him and teased, "Hey, aren't you Wen Chiri's little son? What are you doing hiding here? Aren't you afraid the zombies will eat you?"

Little Chunfeng turned and glared fiercely at him without saying a word.

Wen Chiri happened to hear this when he returned, and quietly took note of it.

At mealtime, Wen Chiri handed food to Little Chunfeng and said, "How about calling me Dad from now on?"

Little Chunfeng was thunderstruck. He clutched the food in his hands and stared straight at Wen Chiri without saying a word.

Wen Chiri scratched his head and didn't press him.

A long time later.

Wen Chiri lay on the bed, staring blankly at the ceiling. The person beside him clung tightly to his waist, rubbing against his neck affectionately and calling him Dad in a syrupy voice. Wen Chiri felt like he couldn't go on living like this.
