No Technique, Just Feelings

Bai Yiyi transmigrates into a cultivation novel as the junior sister who is abandoned by everyone.

In the original story, she will become a demonic woman who stands against the male and female leads and overturns the cultivation world by herself.

But this cultivation world has a kind of cultivator she has never heard of before: the painting cultivator, revered by all.

Painting cultivators wield brush and ink like swords, turning all things under heaven into their own.

They are said to be able to...

Wave a hand and summon wind and rain. Put a careful brushstroke down and produce soybeans and rice.

Make a casual sweep and fly a thousand miles on clouds. Hold their breath and focus, and paint a strip of white cloth just an inch wide.

By all rights, the future demonic woman in the original story should have had all these abilities.

But Bai Yiyi can only produce soybeans and rice, and a strip of white cloth an inch wide.

She has only just joined the sect when she transmigrates. Her master always says she has a solid foundation, but lacks emotional depth.

Bai Yiyi disagrees. She thinks she has nothing but emotion and no technique at all.

The only problem is that her emotions won't make her a demonic woman, and aren't even enough to get people to accept her portraits in town.

After thinking it over, Bai Yiyi decides that the only thing she has going for her is the reputation of her sect.

Before she is framed and driven out, she promptly takes on disciples in the name of a painting cultivator and makes money for the day she runs out of cash.

What Bai Yiyi doesn't know is that her very first disciple is the future Demon Lord, who will one day kill her beneath Mount Wangxian.

At the time, the Demon Lord is still undergoing a tribulation. Bai Yiyi shoves a brush handle into his hand and tells him he has a deep foundation and extraordinary talent, and that his hands are clearly made for painting.

Confused, he gives up martial arts for the arts, and actually manages to paint something decent.

Watching the torrential rain filling the sky, something she herself could never accomplish, Bai Yiyi shakes her head. "No, no. Your technique is too advanced, but you're still short on emotion. Come, let your master teach you properly."
