My Dead White Moonlight Has to Work Overtime

A certain danmei body-double novel, a thoroughly clichéd story about a body double who is adored by everyone.

Bai Qiao's job is to maintain the persona of the story's white moonlight, then die at the right moment to make way for the protagonist.

After working so hard, he finally earns the achievement "dead white moonlight." Bai Qiao weeps with joy: Yes! I can clock out!

But all he gets in reply is silence from the System...

Bai Qiao: ??

The crappy System ditched him and ran off. When they meet again, it has even bound itself to the villain.

Bai Qiao's eyes widen in shock: Weren't you supposed to have only me?

The System, the two-timing scoundrel: Uh... Qiao Qiao, let me explain. /reaches out like Er Kang.jpg

The crappy System tells Bai Qiao he has to work overtime. Apparently, the villain isn't very good at his job, and it doesn't matter which of the two Hosts earns affection points.

But Bai Qiao looks at his own ghostly body, then thinks of how the white moonlight has become universally despised.

Bai Qiao: Whatever. I'm not lifting a finger.

The first time he realizes the System and the villain are the same person is when the protagonist, who had been using him as a body double, goes mad and demands that Bai Qiao be brought back to life so they can get married.

At that moment, the taciturn, towering villain cradles Bai Qiao's ankle, his touch gentle even as his gaze turns fierce.

His voice overlaps with the System's in Bai Qiao's mind:

[No one can take my Qiao Qiao away.]

- An utterly ordinary, flirtatious beauty of a gong

- A pretty little burden on the surface, but actually sick, twisted, and closed off to love

- He'll be a ghost for a long time, but that won't get in the way of anything

- Includes cross-dressing and black stockings. Please don't read if that bothers you.

- The official partner is the System, who is also the villain. Yes, they're the same person.

- If this isn't for you, let's part peacefully. Please be kind and gentle if you comment. Thank you.
