The Eastern Capital Dessert Shop

Gu Wan stayed up all night testing a new milk tea recipe. When she woke up, she had somehow arrived in Luoyang, the eastern capital of the Tang Dynasty. She sighed, rolled up her sleeves, and kneaded steamed glutinous rice into chewy taro balls. Then she mixed in honey and milk to make a bowl of “Milky Taro Balls.” The old woman next door, who sold hu cakes, followed the aroma over and took one bite. She was astounded. Before long, a long line had formed outside Wanwan’s Sweet Drinks Shop. Di Renjie wanted shaved ice and snowflake cream? “Please book in advance.” Chen Zi'ang ordered osmanthus ice cream? “Come back tomorrow.” Shangguan Wan'er came to buy a grape-and-cheese drink? “Sold out. Wait, is this for Miss Shangguan, or for someone in the palace…?” Theme: A gale reveals the strength of the grass
