Gu Tu hates Nezha.

Because when she descended to the mortal world, Nezha mistook her for a wild rabbit and caught her, keeping her for a while.

The boy would sew her tiny scarves, rub her round belly when she ate too much, and give her a flower ball. But at the end of the war between the Shang and Zhou, he abandoned her in the mountains.

Gu Tu strongly condemns this act of abandonment!

When they meet again, Nezha has become a guardian deity who kills without showing mercy. His personality is shockingly vicious. He doesn't even blink when he kills demons, and blood splashes across his face.

Gu Tu is stunned.

Who is this? Where is the adorable, goofy Nezha from before?

Never mind. She'll get revenge by taking him by force and then abandoning him!

Gu Tu finds her chance, binds Nezha's hands, and locks him up in the Moon Palace. He's quite obedient and doesn't resist, but he's a little demanding. Today he wants lotus root starch dumplings, tomorrow he wants a bath in lotus petals.

Gu Tu scurries around, busy with everything, until she finally stamps her foot.

I'm done serving you. I'm leaving!

But the instant she turns away, Nezha easily breaks free and pulls her into his arms. His fingertips wind around her belt as he says,

"Is it my turn now?"

The story follows Investiture of the Gods at first, then Journey to the West. The heroine's name and some of the inspiration come from the poem Questions to Heaven: "What virtue does the moon possess, to die and be born anew? What benefit does it bring, that the moon rabbit lies within its belly?"
