Dark, Gloomy Ghost x Soft, Fluffy Cotton / A Rotten Man's Sincere Heart / Daily Life / Slow Burn
After Sui Fengsu woke up with amnesia, she had a vague feeling that a ghost was haunting her.
In the morning, she would glimpse a blurry black shadow in the vanity mirror, but when she turned around, there was nothing there. When she waded barefoot into the river to catch fish, she would see great swathes of spreading red. At night, she always felt her whole body was bound as she slept, and woke up drenched in sweat.
She had no choice but to visit an ancient temple in the mountains and pray. It enshrined the Supreme Sect Master of the Immortal Sect Juntian. The immortal's statue was perfectly proportioned, its features misty and indistinct.
Sui Fengsu's sincere devotion moved Heaven and Earth. One day, the immortal stepped down from his altar and offered to drive away her ghost.
Wonderful!
She took the immortal home, and sure enough, those strange experiences stopped.
Before long, Sui Fengsu had grown dependent on the immortal. So when he asked if she wanted to marry him, she agreed as if bewitched.
Their married life was peaceful, except that every so often cultivators from the Immortal Sect would come by, claiming she was tainted with ghostly energy and that a demon or ghost must be in her home.
She didn't believe them! The ghost in her home had already been driven away by the immortal.
Until one day...
A cultivator from the Immortal Sect told her that the Supreme Sect Master had been dead for a long time.
Then she came upon him standing among the corpses of the cultivators from the Immortal Sect, drenched in vivid blood. He tilted his head slightly and reached out to her with dark, lifeless eyes. "Let's go home."
Only then did Sui Fengsu realize:
The face in her sweet dreams and her nightmares had always been his.
