Watching enviously as Long, with its extraordinary pets at its side, still held the top spot, other countries swallowed their pride and privately asked:

Could we get an extraordinary pet and maybe get carried to the top, too?

Perhaps the formula for that limb-regrowth medicine developed a few years ago? Or the water-purifying agent would do.

If all else fails, could their researchers at least attend a couple of Professor Sunflower's classes? (Sunflower is a real plant.)
