When the Buddha's Disciple Became the Demon Lord Before His Time

Wen Qingjiu transmigrates into a book as the female Demon Venerable, a villain hated by everyone in the cultivation world.

The good news is that she's just reached adulthood, and hasn't yet become hated by everyone, so there's still time to turn things around.

The bad news is that she's kidnapped and taken to the demon clan by the villainous Buddhist disciple who will one day kill her and, after turning evil, take her place as the new Demon Venerable.

Faced with a Buddhist disciple who is still kind-hearted and beautiful, like a motherly caretaker, Wen Qingjiu explains:

"I invited you here because I want you to lead and educate us. The demon clan's literacy rate is low, so we need to improve everyone's education and help people become kinder."

The Buddhist disciple is pleased. "You are most benevolent, benefactor."

Wen Qingjiu adds, "To make things easier for you, I'd be happy to hand over the position of Demon Venerable! I'll give it to you now, so you won't need to kill me for it later!"

Buddhist disciple: "...???"

And so, after someone else takes the position of Demon Venerable, the demon cultivators begin a daily educational campaign of morning and evening study, spreading virtue and good deeds.

When the cultivation world realizes the troublemaking demon cultivators haven't caused any trouble in a long time, they grow uneasy and make inquiries. What?

Those evil spirits were subdued by the demon cultivators chanting the Soul-Calming Mantra?

The disaster in Huainan was contained by the demon cultivators distributing rice and providing relief?

The powerful enemies from another world were driven back by the demon cultivators, who fought fearlessly?

The people they protected: Such virtuous people!

Later, the people of the cultivation world are completely dumbfounded to hear those once-defiant demon cultivators saying "Amitabha" and quoting the Heart Sutra at every turn.

One day, the cultivation world receives an anonymous report: The Buddhist disciple of Puan Temple has an evil-demon bone, has fallen into demonic corruption, and is now the Demon Venerable. This is a grave threat and must be eliminated!

The demon cultivators snatch away the mission to save all living beings, and the cultivators of the cultivation world, bored out of their minds, immediately spring into action,

eager to find out which idiot dared slander their Buddhist disciple, who has gone out as an emissary to teach others and preserve the peace. That person deserves to die!

And so the informant, who has been made an example of in the name of justice: ???!!!

In the demon palace, the long-haired Buddhist disciple, reborn, gently takes Wen Qingjiu's hand,

and decides that perhaps the cultivation world isn't completely beyond saving.
