Michael died in the year he was most neglected by God, most estranged from his friends, and most hated by everyone.

The reason behind it all was enough to make your blood boil.

Once God's most beloved and valued Crown Prince of Heaven, he was the only one to vote against God's plan to destroy the world.

Then God was enraged, his friends cut ties with him, and he was banished to the Red Sea. Still, he worked tirelessly for the world day and night, begging for God's forgiveness...

In the end, he died alone in battle at dusk on the day of the apocalypse.

When he opened his eyes again, Michael discovered that he was in God's new world.

He had been reborn in the body of a low-ranking angel who had apparently killed himself after being rejected.

With a second chance at life, Michael was disillusioned and decided to avoid the affairs of the three realms, keeping his head down and living like a lazy nobody.

But soon, he noticed something was off.

Statues of him had been erected in every major city of the new Heaven. God had declared his birthday a public holiday. His deeds from the old world were sung about by countless people, and his former friends, with whom he had fallen out, wept at the mere mention of his name...

After being cast aside, he had died and become Heaven's beloved, unattainable icon.

Michael was shocked. Michael was baffled. But Michael was not moved.

Soon, however, he was so shocked by something else that he couldn't move at all.

One day, the person who had made the original owner fall head over heels, lose his mind, and kill himself after a heartbreak appeared before him.

He was a gorgeous man with golden hair like sunlight, long legs, and a slender waist.

His voice was gentle, his eyes impassive, and his words were explosive: "Mikhail, I accept your proposal. Let's go get engaged in a bit."

Michael looked up and was even more dumbfounded: Wasn't this Lucifer, the current Crown Prince of Heaven?

As the most perfect angel of the new world and God's finest creation, Lucifer had lived under the shadow of someone named Michael since the day he was born.

And after becoming Heaven's Crown Prince, everything he said and did was compared to that man.

When he greeted guests with a smile, they said, "Michael may not smile, but his gaze is sincere."

When he gave a speech to inspire people, they said, "Michael may not say much, but he always gets straight to the point."

Lucifer hadn't planned to take all that idle chatter to heart.

Until one day, the God he revered most summoned him and pointed out all the ways he fell short in his work.

Then God changed the subject: "Lucifer, for the sake of balancing light and darkness, I've decided to have you marry the Princess of the Abyss."

Lucifer was shocked, Lucifer was baffled, and then Lucifer suddenly understood...

God wasn't satisfied with his work either and wanted to drive him out of Heaven.

No matter how hard he tried, in their hearts, he could never compare to that beloved icon of Heaven, the dead Michael.

And so Lucifer fell into darkness.

He gave a beautiful smile. "My Lord, but I already have a fiancée."

Much later, Lucifer realized that Heaven's dead beloved icon had long since become a sun that belonged to him alone.
