On the Verge of Leaving

Synopsis to be revised

A fortune-teller said that the recipient was destined to suffer a great calamity, and could only escape it if raised as a princess. So from childhood, he always wore dresses, and kept his sex a secret from everyone.

One day, his kingdom fell and his family was destroyed. His husband, the princess's consort, fled with him into the mountains. The two had grown up together and were deeply in love, living happily side by side.

Then one day, his husband was murdered. When he returned home, all he saw was his husband's corpse.

Now widowed, helpless, and alone, the frail, slender beauty began to live by himself. One day, he found a badly wounded man. The stranger bore some resemblance to his dead husband, and stirred something in him, so he rescued the man.

At the time, he had no idea that the man he saved was the very person who had killed his husband.

Reader's guide:

0. Very dark, extremely melodramatic, and over the top, with coercion and tragic, love-hate entanglements.

1. The recipient has a terrible temper and is not the sort to meekly accept his fate.

2. The true love interest is an assassin, the very person who killed the recipient's husband. Neither of them knows the other's identity.

3. The recipient is adored by everyone, and there are many disposable love interests. All the love interests are virgins.

4. The true love interest falls in love with the recipient at first sight.

5. Set in an imaginary ancient world, with no basis in real history.

6. Poor writing and a chaotic plot. The author has no ideas, so there are no schemes and rivalries to speak of. Any that do appear are illogical plot contrivances.

Theme: When right and wrong reach your ears, learn to endure; be half a fool and half deaf.
