Sister, I'm Sorry (Qing Dynasty Transmigration)

[Over-the-top wish-fulfillment romance]

The narcissus spirit Yulang has lost her memory and is reborn as a concubine-born young lady of the Tongjia clan, the maternal relatives of Kangxi.

Her aunt is the Empress Dowager, and the current emperor dotes on her most.

Her legitimate older sister is an imperial noble consort, with the throne of empress within easy reach.

But Yulang was mistreated as a child and had no one to care for her. Just when she'd finally made it to sixteen, her sister sent someone from the palace to tell her that she was going to have her name struck from the list of candidates for the selection.

By the river in late autumn, Yulang pretended to do laundry. The cold split the skin on her fingertips, and the pain was icy and sharp.

She brought them to her lips and sucked on them. In the distance, a man appeared, reining in his horse and looking her way.

Yulang smiled, pleased with herself.

The man was born to nobility. He was the emperor she'd seen as a child, and now he was her... brother-in-law.

The imperial noble consort gradually noticed that the emperor was visiting the imperial harem less and less.

Frowning, she finally waited on the emperor's arrival, only to hear him say firmly, "I want to grant someone a title."

Who?

The imperial noble consort knelt at the palace gates to welcome the emperor.

She watched helplessly as the concubine-born younger sister she considered beneath her, one hand resting on her slightly rounded belly and the other holding the emperor's, looked up at her pitifully and called, "Sister."

The imperial noble consort felt as if she'd been struck by lightning. "What rank does His Majesty intend to grant her?"

The emperor said, "You know. The throne of empress has been vacant for many years..."

The imperial noble consort fainted on the spot, and the entire imperial harem erupted.

Sister, I'm sorry. Your emperor brother-in-law just couldn't help himself~
