The Qing Dynasty's Most Cherished Consort

[Hailanzhu x Huang Taiji] Everyone knows that His Majesty adores the consort of Guanju Palace, to the point that he protects her with a careful, almost obsessive devotion. He took her as his wife before he became emperor. His favor for her was so great that no one dared challenge her... His Majesty was wise and mighty, ruling with absolute authority. Anyone who objected was sent into exile at Changbai Mountain to dig for ginseng. Some people also say the consort is jealous, monopolizing His Majesty day after day. But they don't know that Hailanzhu was once considered a bringer of disaster by the grasslands, and was also a widow who had been married before. Huang Taiji, already Great Khan, searched for her like a madman for four years. The day they met again, he rasped: "The Wute tribe bullied and humiliated you, so I destroyed it with my own hands. Hailanzhu, how will you repay me?" - Only later did Hailanzhu understand that His Majesty wanted no repayment. He would gladly give himself to her. On the day she entered the palace, she softly asked her maid, "Is there any way to make the Great Khan's gaze stay on me forever?" Then Huang Taiji caught her in the act. Hailanzhu's face flushed scarlet. Her maid was overwhelmed by the sweetness: "..."
