Neither Heard Nor Seen

From the day she turned sixteen, Zhu Hao lived in a world of silence for eight years.

At the beginning of the eighth year, amid swaying flowers, she met Jiang Wan.

He was gentle and warm, as clear as moonlight on a bright night. He played the zither beautifully, and when he smiled, he was like a summer breeze along the riverbank.

But he couldn't see.

The colorful world was nothing but meaningless emptiness to him.

He bent down, his long, slender fingers, accustomed to playing the zither, brushing over her oil painting. The smile at his lips was so gentle it was almost a sigh.

"I wish more people could see your world," Jiang Wan said.

Watching his lips as he slowed his words, Zhu Hao thought she could hear her own heart pounding like a drum.

At the end of the eighth year, Zhu Hao heard the sound of the piano again.

Like a flowing river.

It ran on without end, toward vast mountains and rivers beneath the sun and moon.

That was how this literary, melancholy story was supposed to go, until, at the very beginning, Zhu Hao slapped Jiang Wan in a fit of rage for reasons unknown.

1. One-on-one, sweet romance.

2. No drinking for minors. Adults should drink less, too.

3. The heroine will regain her hearing. We'll see about the hero.

4. May you remain clear-hearted.
