[Who could ever refuse their mom?]
On the last day of every year, all the adult sheep in the Yangshe family gather to discuss which country and region they should settle in for the coming year, based on divination.
The young lambs get excited around this time every year. Part of them hope that if the divination points to some remote place, they won't have to go to school! But mostly it's the freedom-loving genes in their blood stirring.
Wherever they end up, they always have boundless energy to explore, even if they've spent a few years in places like Antarctica or the Sahara, where humans could hardly survive and no one else lived.
But that's all right. The penguins of Antarctica and the cacti of the Sahara are the lambs' friends, even if the lambs slightly damage their friends' habitats to make their horns look pretty. The little ones whose horns haven't grown in yet are terribly jealous.
Every New Year's Day is the day they set off, and this year is no exception.
"I want to soak in a hot spring in Hokkaido, see the cherry blossoms on Mount Fuji, and eat seafood." With reasons like these, the sensible adult sheep handed the results of their discussion to the High Priest. The divination also decided that this island nation would be the Yangshe family's home for the year.
"You're all such troublemakers!"
The current Matriarch shakes her head helplessly, if you ignore the short tail swishing behind her.
Everyone knows that when they get together, their collective IQ drops by the minute.
The clock strikes twelve, and the new year begins on January 1. After hurriedly eating their first tangyuan of the new year, the High Priest rings a bell to send the whole clan into a dream. Human dreams are the best way to travel long distances, and along the way the flock always sees all sorts of human flights of fancy.
"Matriarch, today is January 1, right?"
"Why do you ask?"
"Nothing. The weather in Japan is really nice. Even though the Great Cold has passed, it's still like spring here."
"Yes, we can go see the cherry blossoms."
Boom!
"Japan's fireworks are really loud too."
"...That doesn't look like a firework."
They wake from their dream only to find themselves in another world, one on the verge of destruction. The world's rules are in chaos, and its very essence is about to collapse. Born from the world itself, the flock sets out to save their mother earth.
As for whether this world and the other world are the same world, does it really matter? After all, she's their loving mother earth.
X Month X Day
On the roof of an office building, a girl with horns leaps down without a moment's hesitation
Afterward, the flock watches as posts online expressing shock at the discovery of nonhuman beings are instantly censored by the authorities in Neon: lol.
