Pod Zero

Cthulhu corruption descended, and Luo Fu was forced into a deep sleep.

When she opened her eyes again, the gods had fallen and order had collapsed.

Demons roamed the mortal world.

To survive, humanity evolved a new way of life.

One person in every thousand could borrow the powers of a demon.

They were collectively known as Demon Tamers.

As the child of martyrs who sacrificed themselves for humanity,

Luo Fu did not inherit her parents' talent.

At their funeral, she stared expressionlessly at the massive monster perched atop their coffins.

Of course she had no talent.

As the occupant of Pod Zero, the Zero Isolator, she was immune to all corruption.

She would act as an agent of the gods of the old era,

and purge the corruption that came from beyond the stars.

In humanity's desperate fight for survival,

madness devoured people and despair spread everywhere.

Blood and slaughter ran rampant, and human lives were as insignificant as ants.

A line of gods stood behind Luo Fu.

She would bring an end to this chaotic world with no tomorrow.

All the gods would love her.

Blurb two: She repaired a streetlight with no power source.

Its faint glow carried the order of the old era, slowly setting the broken world right again.

Far beyond the stars, the gods had been stripped of their power over death.

They watched in full awareness as their bodies rotted, disintegrated, and decayed, going mad in endless despair.

They unleashed their boundless malice across the universe,

devouring all hope and life.

The power over death that was taken from them,

I will, as the universe's pain receptors, restore through the painful gift of death.
