You Are as Renowned as the Deep Space

Twelve-Year Age Gap | Raising Her | History Teacher & Pilot

“When you tame a little bird, you and the sky become connected.”

The year Qin Lu turned fifteen, her parents died in a car accident, and overnight she became an orphan.

On the day of the funeral, a woman stood before her. With a handkerchief softer than a cloud, she wiped away Qin Lu's tears and asked, “Would you like to come with me?”

Qin Lu had seen this woman once before.

Back then, her mother had told her to call the woman “Auntie.”

Though they had met only once, Qin Lu had heard her mother's mention the woman's name more than a hundred times.

Compared with the relatives in her village who were always saying nasty things, this woman made her feel much more at home.

Qin Lu hesitated only briefly before nodding. “I want to.”

As it turned out, she had made the right choice. The woman gave her a good place to live and a good environment for her studies.

This little bird who had lost her family now had a new nest.

The woman would always smile and tell her, “Little bird, grow up well and fly toward the deeper blue sky.”

But on the day she turned eighteen, the two of them quietly drifted apart.

It was only because the woman brought another woman home and said, “Little bird, this is my girlfriend.”

Before that, Qin Lu had left her diary open on the table. Its pages were densely filled with her desire for the woman.
