Watching the world of Detective Conan get riddled with plot holes, Takeuchi Gen, a native of that world, has gotten used to it.
One day, Takeuchi Gen discovers he can see nicknames above people's heads. They read: "Overworked cop doesn't want to work," "Gin's underling has it tough," "Poirot waiter wants to quit," "Part-time nobody vows to change accounts"... He slowly types out a question mark.
When Takeuchi Gen runs into "Part-time nobody vows to change accounts," who was a lawyer yesterday and is a doctor today, he quietly steps up and asks, "Hey, did you finally manage to switch accounts?" But the person in front of him runs off in fright. He wonders if he's really that scary.
Oh, I forgot to mention: ever since he started seeing nicknames, his two adoptive older brothers have gotten nicknames, too.
One is a kitchen disaster called "No More Mom Friend." Ever since he got that nickname, his cooking skills have been improving by leaps and bounds.
The other is a host brother called "I Am Akina Mountain's Driving King." He recently quit and switched careers to bomb disposal. He's got quite a broad employment range.
Then one night, Takeuchi Gen is woken by a voice claiming to be the world's consciousness. It says that, as the beta-testing world for the game "Conan-Style Mystery Game," this world can no longer withstand the players' outrageous antics. They've thrown the main storyline into chaos, so it has to implement a policy to reduce the burden on both the Red and Black sides.
The Conan-Style Mystery Game's Double Reduction System selects him as its Host. He must manage all the players' behavior on the player forum, reduce the trouble players cause for both sides, and maintain the main storyline's progress and the world's stability so the game's beta test can be completed.
To uphold the core socialist values, the game must also reach an ending where the Red side wins.
At first, Takeuchi Gen cautiously lurks on the forum and posts a few comments.
Who could have guessed that later, everyone on the forum would be so enthusiastic? "Forum guide boss, what's the next order? How about we just blow up the Black Organization?"
[Warning! Warning! System has detected the Double Reduction progress is reversing!]
Help! Things seem to be going from bad to worse...
Theme: If we're going to implement the Double Reduction policy, we have to see it through to the end
