In the sixth year of her unrequited love for Sheng Yubai, Ruan Yan finally got what she wanted and became his wife.
Everyone knew theirs was a marriage of convenience, without love.
There were even rumors that Sheng Yubai kept a woman he cherished like a first love on the side.
Even so, Ruan Yan still hoped she and Sheng Yubai could grow old together, even if they were only a couple in name who treated each other with respect.
That was until she saw with her own eyes how Sheng Yubai stayed by his beloved's hospital bed, caring for her around the clock.
After ten years of loving him, Ruan Yan's heart finally died.
She took the initiative and handed Sheng Yubai the divorce papers.
Sheng Yubai frowned at her for a while, then put pen to paper. "Don't regret this."
-
After the divorce, Ruan Yan returned to the stage, and countless men fell for her dancing.
Seeing the gossip about his ex-wife, the veins in Sheng Yubai's forehead throbbed. At last, he couldn't sit still.
One rainy night, he knocked on the door of Ruan Yan's hotel room. But the one who answered was Ling Huaiye, the second young master of the Ling family, who had grown up with Ruan Yan as her childhood friend.
The man had just showered and had a towel wrapped around his waist. He looked down at Sheng Yubai with an aloof expression. "Well, Mr. Sheng. Long time no see."
Before Sheng Yubai could ask anything, Ruan Yan's voice came from inside, sweet enough to make one's bones melt. "A Ye, I'm done showering. Carry me out..."
Seeing Sheng Yubai's face turn livid, Ling Huaiye raised an eyebrow and smiled brazenly. "Sorry, Mr. Sheng. I have to go help my wife out of the bath."
-
On his way out of the hotel, Sheng Yubai remembered the night he and Ling Huaiye had met again.
At the dinner table, he'd asked pointedly, "I hear you're back in the country for good, Mr. Ling?"
Ling Huaiye had been looking at Ruan Yan. At the sound of Sheng Yubai's voice, he met his gaze, his expression unreadable and his face cold.
While picking the caviar sushi from Ruan Yan's bowl, he answered Sheng Yubai casually. "Yeah. I'm not leaving again. I'm back to take everything back."
-
As it turned out, what Ling Huaiye meant by everything was Ruan Yan.

Theme: Love yourself before loving others
What a big Shura field. Is it possible that someone in the IF line likes Ruanruan, but Ruanruan likes Aye?
The writing is okay, but the story with my ex-husband is a little too much and takes up almost two-thirds of the whole story!
My ex-husband appears, so he shouldn't have any chance in the if line, right?
Yo, yo, yo, like, like, like
It's great that both male and female protagonists have mouths. I finally see a more normal protagonist.
Congratulations on the completion! Thanks for meeting me and looking forward to seeing you again! !
Hope they stay happy forever! Leave a message at 21:40 on November 21, 2023
