★ Secret crush comes true / married first, love later / groveling chase / both leads are each other’s first and only
Everyone in Shencheng knew that Jiang Shu, the second young master of the Huijiang Group, was a lifelong bachelor.
He was always detached and aloof, never interested in romance, and focused solely on his career.
His resolve was so firm that it drove away the countless admirers who came one after another.
Just as everyone thought Jiang Shu was determined to spend his life alone,
the Gu and Jiang families arranged a marriage.
The Gu family’s second daughter, Gu Zhiwei, who had been sweet and lovable since childhood, would take her brother’s place in the marriage alliance with the Jiang family and become Jiang Shu’s wife.
-
On their wedding night, Jiang Shu handed Gu Zhiwei an agreement. “We’re married by contract. No feelings involved.”
“As long as you behave yourself, I’ll make sure you live in luxury and keep you safe for the rest of your life.”
“What do you say?”
Gu Zhiwei gazed at him for a long while, her expression complicated, then smiled sweetly. “Whatever you say.”
After they signed the agreement, her best friend asked, “You’re not short on wealth, and you don’t need him to protect you. Why did you agree?”
Gu Zhiwei sniffled, tears falling like pearly rain. “You can’t make someone love you by force...”
Only then did her friend realize that Gu Zhiwei had been secretly in love with Jiang Shu all along.
-
Later, the Gu and Jiang families formed another marriage alliance, making their business ties unbreakable.
Everyone assumed Jiang Shu would seize the chance to divorce Gu Zhiwei and end their marriage of convenience.
Gu Zhiwei thought so too.
Late one quiet night, Gu Zhiwei carried the late-night snack she had made herself and knocked on Jiang Shu’s study door.
The man was in the middle of an international video conference.
Gu Zhiwei waited obediently until he finished working, then offered him the snack along with divorce papers. “I’m sorry, Jiang Shu. I can’t keep this up.”
Jiang Shu had just picked up his spoon. He paused, his gaze lingering on the divorce papers.
He looked at the graceful girl, his eyes dark. “What have I done wrong?”
Gu Zhiwei shook her head.
He furrowed his brows. “Then why?”
Gu Zhiwei clasped her fingers together and lowered her lashes. “...You can’t force someone to love you. I want to try something sweeter.”
Jiang Shu: “...”
After a brief silence, Gu Zhiwei heard the ceramic spoon tap against the cup.
She looked up, and her view was suddenly filled by the man, his collar slightly open and his collarbones partly exposed.
Before she could react, she felt the back of her head being held, and then a softness touched her lips...
Jiang Shu was tall and long-limbed. He leaned halfway across the desk between them and kissed her.
As her breath caught and her mind grew hazy, Gu Zhiwei heard the man’s voice, forced out between their lips.
Low and husky, restrained by long-denied desire. “How about now...”
“Is it sweet enough?”
“Everyone said Jiang Shu was like moonlight at zero degrees, pure and cold, untouched by worldly desires. Then he fell in love with Gu Zhiwei, and the moonlight grew warmer with every passing night.”

By-the-book × rebellious
Xuan Yang first met Zhou Dang at the opening ceremony of their first year of high school.
The boy wore his blue-and-white uniform carelessly. A dazzling blue diamond stud hung from his left ear, and his silver hair was breathtaking, as if he had stepped out of another world.
After giving her speech as the student representative and leaving the stage, Xuan Yang met his indifferent, deep gaze.
The boy seemed disdainful of her. He looked away after just a second.
Later, they got married.
On their honeymoon in Melbourne, Xuan Yang ran into the boy who had been the star of her school days and her secret crush.
She habitually stole a few extra glances, then realized that Zhou Dang, who had been walking beside her, had disappeared.
When Xuan Yang found him, the man was standing by the street smoking. He took one drag after another, surrounded by smoke that blurred his lean, handsome face.
When he saw Xuan Yang, he stubbed out his cigarette and walked toward her, watching her with a cold gaze. “Done looking at your first love?”
Xuan Yang froze, staring at him in surprise.
Zhou Dang raised an eyebrow. “One last chance. Sure you don’t want to look a little longer?”
Xuan Yang was confused. “One last chance?”
The man answered with a low hum, lowered his head, and kissed her on the street. “From now on, you can only look at me. I’m your legally wedded husband.”
Years later, Xuan Yang learned that when she was twenty, on the day the Gu family’s biological daughter returned, they had planned to send their adopted daughter abroad and leave her to fend for herself.
They changed their minds only because Zhou Dang wanted to marry her.
Xuan Yang was confused. Late one passionate night, she gazed down into the man’s deep eyes. “Why?”
Zhou Dang pressed her head down, making her lean in to kiss him. “They didn’t want you. I did.”
“When you finally look back, you’ll realize I’ve been watching you all along.”, Zhou Dang
- A science whiz × a literature girl. The hero has loved her secretly since they were young; after marriage, he pursues his wife.
- Both leads are each other’s first and only. The main story is his pursuit after marriage, interspersed with memories of their secret crushes at school.
- Neither lead is perfect. Read with care if that bothers you.
- The plot is entirely made up by the author. Please don’t relate it to real life. No hate or bad-faith comments.
- The premise and blurb were written on 2024.11.15, with screenshots saved as proof.

2026.5.2
So sweet, so pretty
It's good to watch. It would be better if the boat scene was more detailed, haha
Ahhhhhhhhh, it looks good!
The iron tree is blooming, ah ah ah, it's beautiful and so sweet.
Is the original title of this book called "Sweet Enough"? The name suddenly changed and I can't find it.
Simple sweet article, I like it~
It feels like the male and female protagonists have been guessing back and forth without explaining anything clearly, which is so uncomfortable to watch!!!
