On an utterly ordinary evening, Nan Riche, the owner of a dessert shop, was suddenly bound by a shady System that forced a deal on him. Although the shady System offered generous conditions and rewards, Nan Riche wasn't tempted at all. He only wanted to slack off, and never did anything beyond what his missions required.
System No. 138 was deeply troubled by this. With a Host this lazy, it would be hard to survive in a world that was scientific in name only. But as it turned out, the Main System was always a good judge of character.
Its Host might be a slacker, but he was no good-for-nothing.
1. The protagonist starts out as a slacker and changes somewhat later on, though not by much.
2. Firmly on the good guys' side, but an ordinary person, not a tragic, powerful, beautiful character. He never uses a secret identity, never joins the Black Organization, and never goes undercover. The Police Academy group doesn't get a typical everyone-escapes-death rescue, and only one person is saved. The story begins in the first year of the Conan timeline. The others really can't be saved, so please don't read if that bothers you (bows deeply).
3. Light, everyday-life feel at first; the plot gets much tighter later, with foreshadowing throughout.
4. No romance for the protagonist. Feel free to make fanworks; all couples in the story are canon pairings.
5. Updates at 8 p.m. every night. Aiming for at least three updates, hoping for five.
Theme: Kindness is always a powerful force.
If it weren't for this system, the protagonist wouldn't have been kidnapped at all. Logically speaking, Wai Shouichi's role would have ended long ago.
