Is the Campus Heartthrob Still Two-Faced Today?

On the day of the monthly exams in their senior year of high school, a few boys planned to go play basketball off campus and remembered to invite Lin Huaisheng, the fittest guy in class.

Lin Huaisheng turned them down.

"This time's different. We're getting hot pot after we play, and that girl from the class next door specifically asked me to invite you. At least do her a favor."

"I have class this weekend."

With that, Lin Huaisheng picked up his bag and walked out of the classroom.

The boys exchanged glances, seeing the words "just as expected" in one another's eyes. They'd already experienced Lin Huaisheng's cold indifference, and once again, he'd lived up to his reputation.

Even after being turned down, they kept talking about Lin Huaisheng. Whispers spread around the classroom. "Lin Huaisheng really doesn't care about anyone's feelings, does he? I don't think I've ever seen him go out alone with anyone. He's so cold. No wonder people say he's hit someone before."

Someone sighed. "I don't know if he's actually hit anyone. Who'd dare ask? I get nervous just talking to him for a couple of minutes. If I need to deal with him, I message him on my phone. I don't dare talk face-to-face."

"Sigh, I don't think he'll ever date anyone, let alone pursue someone."

"Forget pursuing someone. Lin Huaisheng probably wouldn't even talk to anyone first," the boy said with a laugh, turning around. "Wouldn't you agree, Yu Sui?"

By the window, Yu Sui had been quietly reading. He looked up and gave a soft, "Huh?" He didn't answer right away, looking unsure who they were talking about.

A moment later, under the two boys' intense stares, he hesitantly nodded. "Yeah."

At the same time, the phone in Yu Sui's desk drawer lit up a few times. The sender's contact name was neatly saved as "Lin Huaisheng."

[Why did you pat that person's head yesterday?]

[Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to interrogate you. It's just that you've never patted my head like that...]

[Want to get dinner together this weekend?]
