When Wengels woke up, he discovered that he had not only transmigrated to another world, but had also become a frail high school student who couldn't even lift a finger.
He was a little bewildered, but still settled down to live the life of a normal high school student.
That is, until two years later, when Wengels and his classmates were all transported into a game called "Cthulhu Revival: The Rise of the Cults."
Game Overview: Unknowable [gods] from beyond the stars descend upon Earth. Some humans evolve supernatural abilities after being corrupted by their power.
Steam and machinery, roses and ravens, the occult and astrological magic, potions and alchemy...
In this chaotic yet dazzling age, complete your missions and survive.
The identity cards randomly assigned to the students all came with different abilities.
Identities: Fanatical cultist, legendary investigator, occult professor, S-rank esper...
Skill cards: [Master Manipulator] [Absolute Rationality] [Walking Encyclopedia] [Peerless Combat Skills]...
Wengels glanced at his character sheet, hesitated for a moment, then posted a screenshot to the class chat.
Identity: A poor, down-on-his-luck detective with no supernatural abilities.
Skill card: [Whatever, I'm Gorgeous]

Their class representative, an occult professor who abused his authority, somehow managed to get Wengels into Miskatonic University, known as the "cradle of investigators."
Wengels, receiving his admission letter: ?
He'd graduated from there hundreds of years ago.
But after looking at the missions the so-called "System" had assigned to his class, Wengels silently stepped through the university gates.
[Mission 1: Find the missing cult leader, gone for two hundred years. Kill him and take his place.]
[Mission 2: Find the Outer God hiding at Miskatonic University. ▇▇ it.]
[Mission 3: ...]
Wengels stared at the familiar names on the mission list: ?

His classmates watched the mission progress shoot up, utterly bewildered.
The class monitor opened the contribution rankings:
[Detective Wengels: 100% contribution]
Below him was a whole row of people with contributions ranging from 0% to 10%, a massive gap.
When his classmates asked him about it, Wengels looked confused. "Maybe it's because..."
He was the cult leader.
The Outer God was his creator, his Father God.
The others on the mission list were his teachers, friends, and sworn enemies from hundreds of years ago...?

The protagonist seems like an aloof beauty, but is actually a natural airhead who effortlessly leaves everyone dazzled :D
So, so, so cool and handsome! A beloved presence in a Cthulhu-esque world!
So there may be some angsty emotional entanglements, like "the beloved who died years ago has returned" (not really).
An max-level expert returns to the beginner village (you).
My take on the Cthulhu-esque world, with tons of original worldbuilding!
