The Dry Spell

Zhao Liyan had broken up. He called his buddies out for drinks and sobbed into his glass. “Damn it, this time I'm absolutely not apologizing first. Wen Sheng went too far. Do you know how many backup guys she has in her phone? She even made a special group for them!” “Most importantly, what did she save me as? ‘179 cm Engineering Guy’!” Zhao Liyan stood up, red-faced, and pointed at himself. “I'm 181 cm, for fuck's sake!” Zhou Chong said nothing and poured him another drink. When it was time to leave, Zhao Liyan was slurring that he wanted to call Wen Sheng and have her come pick him up. Zhou Chong ordered a taxi and shoved him right in. Then Zhou Chong stood there for a while before turning around and getting two portions of crayfish to go. It was already late when he got home, but the living room light was still on. Hearing him come in, Wen Sheng rubbed her eyes and sat up on the sofa. “Why are you so late?” she complained. Zhou Chong set down the takeout, walked over, and picked her up. “Baby, I missed you.” * Theme: Striving to improve
