The Rebels Have Their Eyes on Me

In a world torn apart by war, even emperors struggle to stay alive.

Yet the Cai clan, a powerful family famed for producing outstanding generals, has managed to secure a foothold and even raise its own army.

When the provincial capital fell, Shen Guiyi was sent to the Cai residence as a concubine in exchange for the Cai clan's military aid. The Cai clan had long harbored ambitions of rebellion. Though the Shen family was insignificant, they still knew they must do what little they could for their sovereign. Her father told her he would give everything for his ruler, so Shen Guiyi went undercover in the Cai residence.

Life in the Cai residence was like walking on thin ice. Her top priority was to make sure she could stay. The Cai family had two sons: the eldest was cold as ice, while the second was infamous for being a tyrannical brute. Neither was easy to get close to...

As time passed in the Cai residence, the attendants in Shen Guiyi's courtyard came to know only that Miss Shen was in poor health, and that the second young master personally fed her medicinal soup every day, sometimes even staying to care for her late into the night. No one outside the courtyard knew about this. All anyone else knew was that the eldest young master had knelt before the family patriarch to ask for Miss Shen's hand in marriage.

But no one could have imagined that the second madam, who spoke so gently and looked so frail, could take a life with a single sword strike.
