Contract Lovers, Both Unmasked

Strong-willed, short-tempered CEO shou VS abstinent professor beauty gong

As the president of the Pei Group, Pei Yaoxin is facing a tricky problem.

A year after his grandfather's death, a lawyer shows up with the will:

Either find someone to date, or lose his inheritance.

Just as he's fretting over it, he happens to meet his younger brother's graduate advisor,

a young professor who wears gold-rimmed glasses. Elegant and composed, rational and restrained, he's instantly likable.

An outsider, and seemingly easy to get along with.

Pei Yaoxin claims to be a deputy manager at a Pei Group subsidiary and presents a dating contract:

Professor Zhong, how about pretending to be a cohabiting couple for a year? We won't make the relationship public, and you can name your terms.

Zhong Yan: ...

It's the last year. Pretend to be lovers? Sure.

It could be fun to watch a lion tuck in his claws and act like a docile house cat.

They live together but sleep in separate rooms, yet Pei Yaoxin realizes their relationship is gradually taking a strange turn.

Whose pretend lovers hold hands when no one's around?

Whose pretend lovers share a bed?

And who is it that grabs him by the waist, pins him to the wall for a cuddle, and even nuzzles him?

When he's confessed to, he clenches his fists. Professor Zhong, rational and restrained? That first-impression filter was way too strong!

Still pretending to be polite? Still pretending to be good-natured? Give me a break!

Their cohabitation is exposed, and so is Pei Yaoxin's identity as a CEO.

Pei Yaoxin: To hell with that will! This is the perfect time to end the agreement.

Zhong Yan strokes him the right way: There are only two months left. Giving up now would be a waste. Why not stick it out?

Pei Yaoxin: ...Then stop imagining things. Think of something I can actually agree to.

Zhong Yan smiles warmly: All right, I'll think of something serious.

But!

On the eve of the contract's expiration, Pei Yaoxin unexpectedly gets... proposed to.

He dodges at once: You broke your word! I'm not dating you! Stick to the contract!!

Just then, the year is up.

After dealing with the lawyer, he rushes off to a trade fair, frazzled, only to see Zhong Yan walking with the president of the He Group, a major prospective client he's currently negotiating with.

At the president's introduction, Pei Yaoxin freezes in place.

Professor Zhong is President He's older brother? The low-profile, frail eldest son?!

Zhong Yan holds out his hand: How about a win-win partnership?

Pei Yaoxin turns and walks away: No way!!

Zhong Yan grabs him and kisses him outright: We'll talk business separately. First, let's discuss some personal matters.

'What a lion walking straight into the trap. He's been coveting him for ages.'
