Five hundred years ago, Kaedehara Kagemitsu, founder and head of the Kaedehara Clan in Inazuma, Teyvat, died of illness.
Five hundred years later, a tavern called Into Teyvat quietly opened on a street corner in Beika Town.
Kaedehara Kagemitsu, who should have been dead, woke up inside Into Teyvat. Looking at the pile of shiny golden burial goods around him and the note left by his blond best friend, he fell into thought.
So even after I "die," I still have to work, huh?
Due to some kind of restriction, Kaedehara Kagemitsu couldn't leave the tavern. He could only sit there every day, growing mushrooms. Fortunately, the tavern had everything he needed, so at least he wouldn't starve for now.
Kaedehara Kagemitsu had never learned to mix drinks, but the tavern had plenty of Dandelion Wine. He could live off it for years. May the Anemo Archon bless him and let this Dandelion Wine keep him alive.
One day, a police officer from the bomb squad accidentally pushed open the tavern door. Behind the counter sat a young man with long hair and a few maple leaf patterns on his kimono. But his clothes weren't the point. The point was his face: it looked exactly like that of one of the officer's missing classmates.
Officer Hagiwara: So little Morofushi went missing to start a side business running a tavern?
Hagiwara and Kaedehara stared at each other. Kaedehara lifted his folding fan slightly. "What would you like to drink, customer?"
Hagiwara didn't see a menu, only a pile of Dandelion Wine. "Then how about some Dandelion Wine with a taste of your hometown?"
Kaedehara: "..."
You want a taste of my hometown, huh? Onikabuto, Naku Weed, Sea Ganoderma, Amakumo Fruit, Sakura Bloom... which one do you want? If you don't specify, I'll assume you want the one that moves.
Kaedehara rolled up his kimono sleeves, picked up an Onikabuto, and was about to drop it into the Dandelion Wine.
Hagiwara: "!!! You can't put bugs in alcohol!"
"It's fine," Kaedehara said with a smile. "It's my first time mixing a drink. If it kills you, I won't charge you."
Hagiwara: Help! Little Morofushi is trying to kill me!
Of course, Hagiwara didn't die from drinking it. Instead, he became a regular at Into Teyvat and helped Kaedehara with plenty of grunt work.
One day in November, Kaedehara noticed that the police officer had a deadly aura about him and might not have long to live. To keep his source of labor from disappearing, Kaedehara very generously took an immortal artifact from his own burial goods and gave it to Hagiwara to help him survive the danger.
He was a disciple of the immortals, doing a good deed. The adepti of Liyue shouldn't get angry, right?
So Kaedehara, with no qualms at all, changed the fates of many people and used up most of his burial goods.
Then one day, prompted by the news that there was no Dandelion Wine left, his blond best friend appeared before him again.
His friend looked at the few immortal artifacts he had left and fell silent for a moment. "Kagemitsu, is it possible that some of these aren't just burial goods, but also dowry Zhongli prepared for you?"
Though Kaedehara was from Inazuma, he'd grown up in Liyue. He was a child whom the kind-hearted Geo Archon Zhongli had rescued, and a disciple of the immortals.
Kaedehara: "...Huh? Who did Mister, the Geo Archon, marry me off to?"
His friend replied, "Your lover from your previous life. I don't know who it was, either."
Hey, everyone, could you give him back his dowry?

Kaedehara = Morofushi, with a past-life and present-life connection.
Guess the CP.
The blond best friend isn't Zero, but the Traveler. Lots of headcanons.
