Also known as: "After eloping with my bodyguard, I succeeded, but not entirely"
·
Xu Anyu had no parents and was bullied from childhood. Forced into an engagement with a brutal psychopath, he died in an accident on the way to the engagement.
After being reborn, he suddenly understood why he had been so unlucky: he was just a cannon-fodder character in a book.
Xu Anyu decided to lie flat. Stubbornly, he turned himself into a little salted fish, even pretending to be blind to avoid the engagement, determined to escape his cannon-fodder fate.
The new bodyguard assigned to keep him under house arrest was a little strange.
He wasn't the hulking, broad-shouldered, muscular, dark-skinned sort Xu Anyu had imagined.
He was tall and lean, with a sickly pallor to his skin.
He was so stunningly handsome that Xu Anyu, a total pretty-face fanatic, couldn't take his eyes off him.
If he was going to pretend to be blind, he had to commit. Every day, the handsome man patiently fed him, changed his clothes, and even helped him bathe after stripping him completely.
Unfortunately, the good days didn't last long. Xu Anyu soon heard that the engagement would go ahead even if he was blind.
A bolt from the blue! The sky was falling! He'd never heard of a blind man being forced to marry. That Lu guy really was a psychopath! No wonder he was the craziest villain in the whole book!
Run away from the wedding. He had to run away! He'd elope with his handsome bodyguard!
The "bodyguard" gave an inscrutable smile. "All right, let's elope."
During their half-month on the run, Xu Anyu ate scraps, went hungry, and froze, only to be caught and dragged back by Lu Motang.
With fate gripping him by the scruff of the neck, Xu Anyu trembled. He kept pretending to be blind, afraid of being found out, and to avoid slipping up, he simply covered his eyes with a black cloth.
He had never seen Lu Motang with his own eyes, but he suspected the man was mute. In the entire month since their wedding, he had never once heard him speak.
But when the man bathed him himself, his cool fingers, lightly calloused, gliding over Xu Anyu's skin felt familiar.
When the man held him in his arms as they slept, the warmth of his breath against Xu Anyu's nape and the faint, crisp fragrance surrounding him also seemed familiar.
The bodyguard disappeared after that. Perhaps the mad psychopath had thrown him into the sea to feed the sharks.
Xu Anyu secretly cried for a long time over his "almost-boyfriend," then finally worked up the courage to escape.
In the middle of the night, Xu Anyu quietly untied the blindfold, hoping to sneak one look at Lu Motang's face before running away...

Reader's guide (choose your own likes and dislikes):
1. Sweet, satisfying, and feel-good, with mutual pampering and a slight preference for the receiving partner. The author has swallowed the logic whole!
2. The story includes a sickly seme. (Because the author likes that sort of thing.)
3. Both the gong and shou are reborn. The gong is disguised as the bodyguard; there is no third person.
4. No writing advice, please. Even if you don't like it, let's respect each other.
