[I haven't abandoned this! The outline is still a bit messy, so I need to revise it. I'm currently updating the fanfic next door. Once that's finished, I'll probably come back to this one! If you're interested, please add this to your favorites, or check out the fanfic next door~]
Song Miao was among the last batch of cats to gain sentience before the founding of the country. She had always scorned the modern cat's ways of acting cute and begging for affection.
She never got the chance to overthrow the heretical ideas of "cat etiquette," though, before she was inexplicably dragged into a game where she had to fight for her life.
The players trembled in terror at the indescribable monsters lurking everywhere in the game dungeons. When a cat suddenly appeared in the night, wrapped in a mysterious aura and seeming able to see their souls, they assumed it was a formidable game NPC.
Seeing the two-legged creatures looking at her with fear and respect, Song Miao contentedly licked her paw.
What was all that about "don't cry, don't fuss, don't wreck the house; let them pet, hug, and kiss you"? The two-legged ones could keep dreaming!
But once the players were out of the picture, there were still strange NPCs to deal with.
A vase woman who had forged her body from blood and delighted in devouring players: "Aww, what a cute little kitty! Let me rub against you, and I won't eat you~"
Song Miao: "Hm?"
The players, who had been tormented until they were running around in circles and covered in wounds, saw Song Miao flick a paw. The vase fell to the ground, and the vase woman screamed and vanished, leaving behind the key to clear the game.
The final boss, who had beaten the players to the brink of death and was smiling disdainfully: "You're just a cat. If you behave and do as you're told, I might let you stay."
Song Miao: "Oh?"
The players, barely clinging to life, watched as Song Miao nimbly dodged the boss's elaborate attacks, clawed it until it was covered in wounds, and left it dead on the ground, eyes wide open.
Song Miao: "Just because cats don't show their claws, you think we're all Hello Kitty? Today, I'm going to teach you what it means to be a fierce predator!"

Song Miao herself was a cat with no regard for cat etiquette, but she'd found herself a caretaker who took "human decency" very seriously.
The caretaker never tried to force her to accept pets. Even when she scratched or clawed him, he never fought back. He even remembered her favorite foods and flavors, and always kept dried fish ready for her.
Song Miao was very pleased.
But gradually, she began to notice something. Why had her caretaker been looking at her lately with such a hesitant expression?
Convinced she was a very considerate boss, Song Miao found a chance to corner him and ask if there was something he wanted to say.
Caretaker Cheng Qinian gazed at her with tender eyes, while shadowy tentacles that resembled the bars of a cage spread behind him.
"Miaomiao, I've been your caretaker for so long. Isn't it fair to get a little tip?"

1. A straightforward cat who never acts cute and fights back whenever she's crossed x a gentle and virtuous caretaker who can hold his own in public and cook at home. Actually, it's a story about an overbearing cat boss falling in love with me.
2. The cat can turn into a human, but isn't human. Both the cat and the caretaker have hidden identities, but revealing them would be a spoiler.
3. The author is a strong supporter of the Cat Etiquette Academy, not a spy sent by Building Three. Song Miao's opinions don't completely reflect the author's own.
4. Please add this to your favorites and leave a comment, pretty please!
