Synopsis:

Shen Qi was an NPC announcer in the radio show Infinite Midnight 1.0. Every broadcast marked the end of the current instance. The monsters would return underground, and the players lucky enough to survive would weep with relief. He was known as the "Divine Messenger."

Infinite Midnight 1.0 was taken offline because of a version bug. When it returned, all the instances across the map had been updated.

Shen Qi was accidentally pulled into the Infinite Midnight 2.0 closed beta. The System required him to play a decorative beauty in the instance, someone who only needed to be clean and pretty. If he wanted to clear the game, he had to rely on the other players.

Even as Shen Qi snapped a vengeful ghost's neck, he took care not to get himself dirty, and had to maintain the image of a delicate beauty in front of everyone.

The team all thought Shen Qi was a useless pretty face. Then, little by little, another rumor spread through the channels: a cool, aloof beauty had led them in slaughtering their way through the instance.

.

One day during the 1.0 era, Shen Qi found a battered man's head in the swamp of a battle royale. He looked like he'd been a respectable man in life.

Shen Qi pieced together a complete body for him: "A few more years of patching you up, and you'll have to make do with this."

Zhu Shang was a hidden boss in an instance from the 1.0 era. He embodied every vile trait: greed, arrogance, envy, rage, lust, and more. Everyone said he was the source of the curse and should be killed once and for all.

Only Shen Qi took him home.

According to the 2.0 System's rules, the more Shen Qi tried to resist, the weaker his body became. Luckily, he managed to latch onto a powerful player. The guy was ruthless and taciturn, and somehow familiar.

The powerful player asked, "Why did you choose me?"

Shen Qi replied coolly, "Because I want to take advantage of you. I don't want to work hard anymore."

Zhu Shang: …

Danger and hidden currents lurked throughout the instance.

As long as Shen Qi stayed beautiful, Zhu Shang didn't mind getting his hands dirty.

Bonus scene:

Shen Qi had limited stamina. If he could lie down, he would never stand, and he had no desire to do anything tiring.

He looked up at the man.

Zhu Shang: Just lie there. I'll do it.

Later, Shen Qi discovered that being on the bottom was pretty tiring too, mainly because a certain someone went too far.

System: What? That's it? Give him 100 bottles of stamina potions! Tonight, go all out and do it over and over!

A suspense-focused story with romance.
