The first time Lin Tongxi saw the girl who looked like a Ragdoll cat was three months after she returned to the country.
She had moved from her parents' home to a new residence. As the movers carried a wooden statue of the Virgin Mary, half a meter tall, into the house, the door stood open, and a graceful figure flashed past in the corridor.
The girl glanced at the statue outside the door. Her gaze swept over Lin Tongxi, touched her as lightly as a dragonfly skimming water, then moved away.
Like a mirage that had appeared out of nowhere, so unreal it felt like a dream.
Lin Tongxi stood rooted to the spot.
Cunning was a cat's nature.
But Lin Tongxi discovered that Miao Yuwei was more than that.
She was a predator among felines, a lion who bared sharp teeth and claws, fixed her eyes on her prey, and waited for the chance to pounce.
She was also a kitten who curled up in Lin Tongxi's arms and cuddled affectionately.

At a family gathering, a new face sat among them. The woman was tall and aloof, her joints and bones sharply defined, dressed in a loose white shirt with a cotton-and-linen texture. The moment she saw Miao Yuwei, a fleeting look of surprise crossed her eyes.
Miao Yuwei tilted her head slightly and blinked her clear, round cat eyes.
Her mother introduced them warmly. "This is your brother's fiancée, Tongxi. She used to come over to play when you were little. Yuwei, hurry and call her sister-in-law."
Miao Yuwei paid no attention. She pulled over a chair and placed it between her brother and Lin Tongxi.
"Sister." She smiled, watching Lin Tongxi with a chilling gaze. "What a coincidence, meeting you here."
Lin Tongxi thought she was prey that had been marked, but Miao Yuwei knew that Lin Tongxi was clearly a hunter who had no idea what she was.
She didn't need to do anything. Lin Tongxi would willingly fall into her trap and become a well-behaved cat.
"Good morning, my little kitty."
"Meow~"
