One day, their friend Lin Jiaqiao said to Lin Zhijin, "I like Sister Zhenzhen. How about I become your brother-in-law someday?"

The guy playing Switch didn't even look up. He scoffed and replied with two words: "Get lost!"

He didn't take his friend's weird outburst seriously at all.

Later, Lin Jiaqiao wanted to confess to Lan Jinyu and asked Lin Zhijin to arrange a meeting for them.

Lin Zhijin said nothing. He shot him a sidelong glance, unable to hide the look of someone ready to kill.

Lin Jiaqiao shivered, baffled. "Why are you staring at me? If you won't help with this, what kind of friend are you?"

Lin Zhijin: "If we're friends, why are you stealing my girl?"

Lin Jiaqiao: "?"

Two seconds later, he caught on and let loose a string of curses.

"You little bastard! Get the hell out of here!"

"Who was it that said you couldn't stand Little Lan's princess syndrome?!"

"...*&!?@$#..."

As spit flew, Lin Zhijin leaned back and turned away to dodge it, but couldn't stop his mouth from stretching into a wide grin.

He looked up and saw the graceful girl strolling down the hill in the blazing sun.

The delicate play of light and shadow and rich colors made the scene look like an oil painting.

Her parasol was mint green. She wore a white chiffon sun shirt, and the blades of the apple-green handheld fan spun back and forth, cooling her slightly sweaty face and neck. Her lips were turned down, her face flushed, and her brows knitted in annoyance.

Lan Jinyu was allergic to ultraviolet rays, hated the heat, and loved the cool. And it was obvious that...

Lin Zhijin knew the young lady was throwing a fit again.

Sure enough, she glared at him in irritation. "It's unbearably hot! Why did we even come out?"

"It's not far." Lin Zhijin's smile grew wider. He jogged over to her, soothing her patiently. "I'll give you a ride on my bike. We'll be there in no time."

As he spoke, he naturally took her parasol, brushed aside the strand of hair sticking to her cheek, and handed the young lady a refreshing popsicle and iced drink to cool her temper.

Lin Jiaqiao watched the scene, dumbstruck. "..."

Who used to call me a suck-up?

Damn! He's such a suck-up!
