A terribly directionless university student unexpectedly receives a text from a stranger giving him directions. Then his childhood friend dies in his home;
A late-night phone call alerts the police to a body that has appeared out of nowhere on the street;
And there's the woman who fell from a high-rise, her eyes brutally gouged out by the killer. During the final fifteen minutes of her life, she was the only person upstairs...
Jiang Xun has just joined the criminal investigation team when he encounters one strange case after another. During the investigations, he becomes intensely curious about Yin Mo, a well-known figure in criminal investigation circles who often helps the police solve cases as a consultant. After the two work together to solve the severed-hand murder, the midnight phone call case, and the eye-gouging and fall case, Jiang Xun unexpectedly discovers that Yin Mo is doing business with an organization called “The Underworld,” trading in people's lifespans.
This business has been going on for five hundred years and is connected to countless strange cases and wronged souls. The victims of these cases willingly offer up part of the lifespan of their next life, all so Yin Mo will help them clear their names.
Though Yin Mo is already immortal, he holds the remaining lifespans of so many living people in his hands and is still not satisfied. He continues searching for his next customer.
A modern criminal investigation mystery in a partly fictional world.
A brazen, unrestrained, loyal and devoted gong & a gentle, deeply affectionate, enigmatic shou
1. 1v1, primarily a happy ending. The shou appears in chapter two and is seen in chapter three. The gong and shou are reuniting in the main story, not falling in love at first sight.
2. The first three volumes focus on solving cases. The fourth is a flashback. All the other volumes, apart from the fourth, take place in the present.
3. The story contains many strange, fictional settings of the author's own invention. The flashback is set in a fictional history. It's all made up, so don't take it too seriously.
4. This is the author's first story, written in high school. The criminal investigation details aren't professional, and the writing is immature. Please don't nitpick. Thank you.
Theme: The net of justice is vast, yet lets nothing escape. Obey the law and cherish peace.
