[Harry Potter] Making Money Beats Practicing Dark Magic

A quick plug for my next confirmed project, the upcoming novel The Archangel Says He Wants to Join the Party. You can find it on my author page. The whole story is free, so updates will be slow. But I'm really excited about it right now, so I'll post more often for a while. XD If you asked eight-year-old Alice London what mattered most to her, she'd answer without hesitation: money! If you asked sixteen-year-old Alice Russell what mattered most to her, this time she'd say: Galleons! She sounds like a girl obsessed with money. But let's move ahead a little further. What will twenty-four-year-old Alice say when she hears the question again? "Tom, promise me you'll become Minister for Magic this time, or all the money I poured into this will have gone to waste!" Alice said, half praying and half threatening. Tom Riddle rolled his eyes. "When have I ever let you down? Or do you only care about your business? I know you must have bet on this." "If I didn't care about you, I wouldn't have spent all that money on you!" Alice declared, as if proclaiming a great truth. "I could've spent that money shopping, investing, going on vacation... anything but pouring heaps of Galleons into one person!" "If all you care about is Galleons, even Malfoy is more high-minded than you," Riddle said. "I think spending seven years at school obsessed with making money is a lot better than spending seven years obsessed with Dark Magic." Alice shrugged. "If I hadn't been dripping with gold when I pulled you back from the wrong path, you'd never have changed your mind." Tom Riddle, who had nearly become the second Dark Lord, had no reply. The following is the blurb for the upcoming novel: Song Chiyu, a top student from an immortal sect, spent years searching the snowy mountains alone for her missing best friend. She never imagined that in the end, she'd dig herself into another world. The intelligent inhabitants of this other world were all winged bird-people, but overall, the place seemed peaceful and harmonious... right? "Our magic is powerful. As long as there's a living person anywhere on this land, even underwater or buried in the earth, we can wipe them out." "We want their land. If they won't give it to us, we'll just attack!" This place was nothing but a vile little country bent on cruel expansion! Song Chiyu decided this couldn't go on. Finding her friend was important, but helping the suffering people of this other world was important too. She hastily formed an interworld task force, determined to bring that vile little country down. After the task force was founded, oppressed people from all over the other world signed up, and Song Chiyu was happy to take them in. But as she kept recruiting, she ended up bringing in the leaders of that vile little country too! Movie fans, don't ask me about the original's details. I'll be digging them up here and there to write this. Riddle is morally ambiguous, and the female lead is no normal person either. Details are in the author's note for Chapter One. I'll be changing the characters' actions and goals based on my own interpretation, so please don't cling too tightly to the original. Why read fanfiction otherwise? Harry Potter fanfiction can't be put behind a paywall, so this story will be free and updated whenever I feel like it. Please treat it as casual fanfiction. If you like it, stick around. If you don't, there's no need to make a fuss. This isn't a paid section, and I'm not going to put up with you for money. Theme: Love and peace.
